Have you visited Tarrytown Cafe in Aewol, Jeju, which became famous for its 🍕pizza scone🍕?
Reimagined from a 1950s American highway rest stop, the space consists of a café on the first floor and a ball cap showroom on the second floor, allowing visitors to enjoy both great food and browsing, which helped spread the word even more.
How was Tarrytown’s unique scone pizza created? “Think outside the box” — Tarrytown is a brand that speaks about “bias.” Beyond scone pizza, the brand is also producing ball caps that capture the wit of a few who smile at the line between obsession and conviction, in order to overcome the biases embedded in everyday life.

With a design reminiscent of a mid-20th-century Christmas cake box and a handle box structure, the packaging was planned to express the idea of a “gift.” When the package is opened, colorful corn-starch cushioning material was used to create an eco-friendly package with a popcorn-like look.

Handle boxes feature a round handle on the top and are commonly used by bakeries and cafés for takeout, gift packaging, and return gifts, but they can also be used to package ball caps or apparel. The top lid unfolds on all sides when the box is opened, making it a fitting packaging style for creating the feeling of receiving a gift.🎁
🌽Corn-starch cushioning material is a biodegradable eco-friendly packaging material that can be dissolved in water and used as fertilizer in potted plants, or discarded with food waste. However, please note the proper disposal method, as pouring the dissolved material down the drain may cause water pollution.
