The Latest Trend: “Cut-Catchment Areas”

The era of transit hubs has given way to “cut-catchment areas” (places where four-cut photo booths such as Life Four Cuts, Photoism, and Haru Film are clustered, allowing analog photos to be printed instantly / source: CARRYT), to the point that a new culture has emerged among Gen Z—taking photos not just on special occasions, but to document everyday life.

In step with this trend, the popular studio Young Archive in Seochon and Mangwon has launched a second brand called “Soapic,” drawing attention.

Soapic: Brand Introduction

The brand name Soapic is a blend of soap + picture, inspired by soap, and is a brand created to naturally capture the purity and warmth that soap gives us through ID photos. While ID photos are often taken once and used up, Soapic stands out for weaving the brand’s core story into a meaningful concept, preserving the look of this moment in a special and treasured way.

Soapic: Showing the Brand Identity at a Glance with an ID Photo Package 👀

Soapic’s ID photo package produced by Packative was made as a three-side-glue folding box.

What is three-side glue? Among folding boxes, this is one of the sturdiest structures. When viewed from the bottom, many of you may be familiar with the three flaps that overlap like a seal. In particular, folding boxes are easy to customize visually, making them one of the packaging options that can protect the product safely while also reflecting the brand image well.

Soapic’s ID photo package was designed to reflect the brand’s value with fresh, soft colors reminiscent of soap and a bubble-inspired look. In addition to the ID photos, it was made to hold Soapic’s signature Bubble Flash and membership card, along with other components in one place, so the package could communicate the brand’s value and preserve memories together.

Soapic: ID Photo Package Production Details

The biggest advantage of the folding box used for Soapic’s ID photo package is that 1. it can be produced at a reasonable cost.

Because the production process is simple, turnaround time is faster than with other packaging types, and production costs are relatively low. Another advantage is that 2. revisions and quick responses are comparatively easy in line with trends. Also, unlike corrugated board or other materials, the box is thin, so 3. space usage can be minimized, and 4. it is easier to store than other packaging formats.

Sometimes, to stand out in customers’ eyes, businesses consider packaging that is simply “flashy.”

However, rather than relying on a design that is merely eye-catching, expressing the brand’s intended image well through the package can help communicate brand value to customers over the long term and serve as a good channel for ongoing communication.

Since every package has its own characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses, if you’re unsure, we recommend consulting with Packative’s packaging experts. Don’t wait after requesting a quote—check your real-time estimate through Packative.👇
